For both static and dynamic sealing applications 'O' rings made from different types of polymers and elastomers play a vital role. ASRI have been making high quality 'O' rings for the last 40 years.

Different fluids require different polymers and elastomers for compatibility. Similarly different working conditions calls for different polymers and elastomers to be effective. Similarly different temperature an other working conditions call for different polymers and elastomers to be effective.

Sizes could range from 3 mm. internal diameter to 900 mm. internal diameter. ASRI makes - rings from Viton, Silicone, Polyacrylic, HNBR, CR, Natural and other Synthetic rubbers.

While manufacturing diaphragms, one of the most crucial things to consider is the quality of the elastomer. It is necessary that the chosen elastomer is compatible with the fluid in contact. Equally important is the type of fabric used. Usually, different types of fabrics are chosen keeping the pressure and temperature requirements in control.

Rubber bellows play an important role in automobiles and other equipments in keeping dynamic mechanisms free from dust and other contaminants. Most of the situations require greasing and oiling of the mechanism parts. Hence the chosen rubber has to be oil resistant.

The other attack on the component is normally environmental like heat, ozone and oxygen. This in conjunction with extreme flex cracking properties make up the properties of the rubber required for making a good bellow.

ASRI a TS 16949 Company has been manufacturing bellows including very complex bellows for a long time now. In fact ASRI has designed and developed bellows for a large variety of vehicles with very stringent specifications.

In various applications rubber is bonded to brass aluminium or steel for sealing, cushioning and abrasion resistance requirements. It is the rubber that bears the brunt of sealing, cushioning and abrasion resistance whereas the metal acts as the bearing surface of the rubber .The typical example of this application is in brake seals for railway brake systems. The most suitable rubber for this application is Nitrile rubber. This is because of its greater resistance to oil, heat and abrasion, which is inherent in the operation.

ASRI manufactures full range of brass-rubber bonded seals which are used by the railways. The seals are guaranteed for high working life.

ASRI also manufactures other rubber to metal bonded seals inclusive of Silicone, Viton, Polychloroprene and Natural rubber etc. Metals could be aluminium, steel of different types besides brass.

Anti-vibrations mountings are designed to absorb shocks in automobiles engines and other systems which require protections from damage due to vibrations.

Rubber absorbs the vibrations like no other materials known to mankind. Many A. V. mountings have to be bonded to steel or other metals to be able to fit in equipments to do their jobs.

Though the better known rubber for shock absorption is butyl rubber, in India it is natural that is mostly used for this purpose because of the price advantage. However natural rubber is mechanically a very strong rubber.

Many mountings are also made from Nitrile or Neoprene for oil resistance or oil plus heat applications.

NBC gloves as the name suggests are designed to protect a person during a nuclear biological and chemical attack.

There is hardly any material known to help mankind survive a nuclear attack. However to survive in this environment for short duration could be of critical consideration. Thus, head to toe coverings have been designed to survive, if only for a few hours.

The gloves are basically made of impermeable compounded butyl rubber .The tricky part is that one who wears it must be protected completely for the duration of the time he is to work in the environment and secondly it has to allow him to work. So a critical balance of properties has to be maintained.
ASRI has conducted a detailed research on the compound and its processing parameters for making both injection and compression moulded NBC gloves.
