• I. C. ENGINE LAB.

ICP-01            A.  SINGLE CYLINDER 2 STROKE PETROL ENGINE TEST RIG.

The Test Rig Consists of the following :

a.   Engine : Single cylinder 2 stroke petrol engine of 150 CC capacity. Make  : Bajaj Auto Ltd.
b.   Dynamometer : The   Engine   is   coupled   to   Rope   Brake Dynamometer   through   flexible   coupling   on a common base plate. Brake  drum of 200 mm dia. & vertical spring balance,  hand   wheel, weight hanger, dead weights for conducting experiments.
c.   Fuel Measuring Device :   Fuel  tank mounted on sturdy iron stand,  burette tube, three way cock, connecting tube & a stop clock.
d.   Calorimeter : Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger to measure the heat goes through exhaust gases.
e.   Air Intake Measurement :  Air Intake reservoir of size 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.5 m. with orifice plate, U-Tube manometer of 0.5 m height for the measurement of air flow rate.
f.    12   channel   Digital Temperature Indicator :   With set of thermocouples ( six ) along with 6 way selector switch.

WITH WATER BRAKE DYNAMOMETER.                                 

Same as above but ( A ) with Water Brake Dynamometer. Engine is coupled   to Water Brake Dynamometer of 5 HP capacity.

ICP-02 COMPUTER BASED SINGLE CYLINDER 2 STROKE PETROL ENGINE TEST RIG                                              
The Test Rig Consists of the following.

a.   Engine : Single cylinder 2 stroke petrol engine of 150 CC capacity. Make    : Bajaj Auto Ltd.
b.   Dynamometer : The Engine is coupled with Hydraulic/ Water Brake  Dynamometer of 5 HP capacity at 1500 RPM
c.   Torque Measurement : With Load Cell, Output : 4 - 20 mA.
d.   P q & PV Plot : 

i) Piezo Sensor : 1 No. for combustion pressure.
ii) Spark Sensor : 1 No.
iii) Piezo Amplifier : 1 No.
iv) Crank angle sensor with TDC marker : 1 No.
v) Temp. Transmitter : 6 Nos. with Sensors.
vi) ADC Card : 1 No. with Complete Inter Facing.
e.   Software : A     Powerful    software   for   studying   different  characteristics of I.C. Engine e.g. Brake Power Vs Speed & Load,  Heat   Converted to   Brake   Power,  heat goes to exhaust gasses  & heat unaccounted.
f. Computer : Pentium II, 8 MB RAM, 1.2 MB FDD, 101 Keys Keyboard & Colour Monitor.
g.   Fuel Measuring Device :   Fuel flow Sensor for fuel metering.  Fuel tank mounted on sturdy iron stand, burette tube, three way cock, connecting tube & a stop clock.

RAC-001 ICE PLANT : ( 30 Kg/Day)                                               

A.   The Unit Consists of the following :

a.   Compressor : Hermetically sealed compressor. 1.5 Tone.
b.   Condenser : Air Cooled condenser made out of copper pipe & copper fins of
      matching capacity with fan cooling.
c.   Brine Tank : Brine Tank made out of 16 gauge sheets with wooden frame with
     proper insulation & covering   complete with brine agitator of matching capacity.

B.  Control Panel :

a.   Thermostatic : Flica ( Germany ) expansion valve or Equivalent.
b.   Drier, Filter : DANFOSS DM 85  or Equivalent.
c.   HP-LP Cutout  : Make Ranco of Equivalent.
d.   Thermostat : For suction & discharge,
      Make :  Danfoss ( 1018 ) or equivalent
e.   Control Valves :  Vanaz or Equivalent 3/8”.
f.    Pressure Gauges : FEI BIG or Equivalent of 300 PSI.

 RAC-002      MINI COLD STORAGE PLANT                                      

A.   The unit consists of the following :

a.   Compressor : Hermetically sealed Compressor 3 Tone
      Make : Kirloskar - Copeland
b.   Condenser : Air cooled condenser made out of copper & fins of matching
      capacity with fan for cooling.
c.   Storage Room : 6 Ft x 6 Ft x  6 Ft with double wall    insulated.  Suitable small
      door for the cold storage.
d.   Evaporator : In the form of copper coil fitted inside the storage room.

B.  Control Panel :

a.   Thermostatic expansion valve : Flica ( Germany ) or Equivalent.
b.   Drier, Filter : DANFOSS DM 85  or  Equivalent.
