TYPE OF EXPANSION JOINTS
STANDARD - Single arch for use where initial misalignment of two pipes to be connected does not exceed 1.8", but not where flanges are out of parallel. Available for pressure or vacuum. Arch can be filled, however,
movement limitations are reduced 50% |
MULTIPLE ARCH - Standard joint with
2 or 3 arches. Recommended for
greater movement where face to face
dimensions are not limited. Suitable for
pressure or vacuum applications with
flanges or sleeve ends. |
LIGHT WEIGHT - Recommended for handling air, liquid, gases and fumes at 7.5 ( 15"vacuum absolute ) to
15 psi. Available with multiple arches, filled arches and sleeves ends. |
RETAINING RINGS -
Use of split-steel rings assure a pressure-tight seal. Outside diameter is same as standard flange and contains the same number of bolt holes. Those used on joint sizes upto 40" are two-piece ( 4 segments per joint ). Four-piece rings ( 8 segments per joint ) are used on all larger sizes. All are generally 3.8" thick.

PTFE is fluoropolymer possessing a unique combination of frictional, chemical, thermal, andelectrical properties. It has non-stick nature, non wetting and is self-lubricating. It has outstanding chemicals resistance and is unaffected by all known chemicals except alkali metals, fluorine under certain conditions. It has excellent weather resistance . PTFE has the widest working temperature range, the best of the solid dielectrics an excellent insulator.
