Globe Bearing Centre was established by Mr. Pradip Salampuria in November 1988, after gaining experience of more than 5 years in the Bearing Industry. Mumbai was the chosen destination as it was the undisputed Capital of the Indian  bearing trade and also for its proximity to the South of India, which is a major consumer.

Mr.Pradip Salampuria was joined by his younger brother Pravin in February 1989 to assist in the running of the business.

Globe Bearing Centre has always been in the fore front in offering cost effective solutions and quality products to their customers.

The “LS” brand of spherical plain bearings and rod ends was introduced in 1991 and found a ready acceptance in the market for its quality and economical price.
Even today it remains the market leader in its category.

Pillow Block Bearings are used, for instance, in agricultural machinery, conveying equipment, and construction machinery. A Pillow bearing unit consists of a deep groove ball bearing sealed on both sides and a spherical outside diameter together with a housing, which is either a casting or a sheet metal stamping. This units are supplied as plummer block or flanged housing mountings

Pillow Block Bearings covers the current units for matric and inch size shaft. Apart from very rare exceptions these bearing units are used as locating bearings. They are particularly suited for short shaft and for applications where only minor thermal expansions occur. Small shaft expansions are absorbed by the axial clearance in the bearings. Plummer block unit housing made of cast iron, Flanged-housing unit made of sheet metal.

They are along with lips at the bearings inner and outer rings are able to transmit thrust loads in addition to radial loads.
